Reference Samples

Description

In Episode 1, we explored the question of what measurement uncertainties in the context of metal analysis are and how to determine them in principle for a spectrometer. Episode 2 deals with the use of the required sample material for the determination of measurement uncertainties. The webinar starts by answering what exactly reference samples actually are and what different sample types (traceable, CRM, RM, SUS) there are.

What information should sample certificates contain, since these are required for calculating measurement uncertainties? Which samples can be used without hesitation to pass an audit without any problems and for which samples are the conditions of the standards not fulfilled? Practical examples will be used to show how this information can be used to calculate measurement uncertainties. A large part of the webinar will also be devoted to answering questions posed by the participants.

The target audience for this webinar is laboratory and quality management and those responsible for determining measurement uncertainties, whose goal is to achieve consistently high quality analytical results in accordance with current standard specifications. Basic knowledge of spectrometry and statistics is not mandatory.
