Analysis of Slag, Ferro-Alloys and Refractory Materials Using ED-XRF

Typical applications in a laboratory in a steelmaking plant include the fast analysis of slag but also the qualification of ferro-alloys and the testing of refractory materials. X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometers are standard tools for these applications. Nowadays these analyses can be handled by high-performance energy-dispersive XRF instruments.

This webinar will outline the performance of the SPECTRO XEPOS and SPECTROCUBE ED-XRF instruments combined with sample preparation as pressed pellets and fused beads. Example performance data will be shown for slag, some ferro alloys and as an example for refractory products the analysis of high alumina, alumino-silicate and silicate based materials.
