Analysis of Food Supplements by ICP-OES with Axial Plasma Observation

This report describes the basic methodology for the analysis of food supplements using capsules with dried curcuma powder as an example. Concentrations measured in the curcuma powder and typical detection limits in food supplements are shown. The analysis was performed with an external matrix-matched calibration as well as with the standard addition method. Also, to demonstrate the accuracy of the calibration, spike recoveries measurements were performed.
